The Records Unit is open Monday through Thursday from 12 pm to 4 pm. All emergency services are available 24/7, and as always, residents should dial 911 to report emergencies or (909) 798-7681 ext. 1 to speak to a member of the department regarding non-emergencies. Telephones with direct lines are located in front of the RPD Station (1270 W. Park Avenue) and Administrative Offices (30 Cajon Street). Online reporting should also be utilized when applicable.

Requests for copies of reports can be also submitted via email by emailing the request along with a copy of the requester’s identification to reportrequest@redlandspolice.org. Records Specialists will respond to email inquiries as they are received. (The digital report acquisition process offers residents the added convenience of submitting a request for a report at any time from the comfort of their home or other computer, as they are no longer limited to submitting in-person requests during normal business hours at the Redlands Police Department Records Unit.) The Records Unit can be reached by phone at (909) 798-7614. Telephones are answered from 10:00 a.m. — 4:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday. Records is closed to the public on Fridays, weekends, and holidays.

The Records Section serves as clerical support to all members of the Police Department and is responsible for customer service at the main facility front counter.

Registrants

Those required to register their fingerprints with the Redlands Police Department for Arson or Sex Registrants may do soby appointment only.To make an appointment for the fingerprints, contact the Records Unit at 909-798-7614.

Alarm Fee

The City of Redlandsdoes notrequire a permit fee for the installation of residential or commercial alarms. There is a fee for false alarms. Each business or residential location is allowed three (3) false alarms in a 12-month period. If the Redlands Police Department is requested to respond to a business or residence for an alarm after the three (3) allowed false alarms, the fee will be charged.The fee is $212 for each false alarm after the initial three (3).

Traffic Collision Reports

If you wish to obtain a copy of a traffic collision report, you must be an involved party or an insurance agent for an involved party. Attorneys must supply a signed waiver from the involved party. There is no fee. Please allow14 business daysfrom the date of the collision. Please call the Records Unit at909-798-7614to confirm the report is available.

For online purchase of a traffic collision report, please visit www.buycrash.com. There is an $8 fee for the report. The reports are uploaded into www.buycrash.com approximately 14 days from the date of the accident. Please call the Records Unit at909-798-7614to confirm the report is available.

Crime Reports

An extract of a crime report may be obtained by the victim, insurance agent or attorney for the victim (with signed waiver). An extract consists of the report face page and stolen/recovered property sheets only. A subpoena is required to obtain a full copy of a crime report.

Bicycle Registration

Bicycle registration tags can be obtained for $5.00. Please bring the bicycle into the lobby of the main police facility at 1270 W Park Avenue, Bldg. #C, for verification of the serial number. Registration tags are good for 2-3 years.

VISA Clearance Letters

If you need a VISA clearance letter, there is a $26.00 charge. You must provide photo identification. Only Redlands records will be searched (adults only). If you wish to obtain a State clearance, please contact the Department of Justice. VISA clearance letters can only be requested in person, and cannot be done through the mail or by a second party.

Impounded Vehicles

If your vehicle has been impounded, a release can be obtained for$175 ($299 for DUI).Only the registered and/or legal owner may obtain the release. The vehicle must be currently registered, and a valid driver’s license is required. If your vehicle was impounded due to the driver being unlicensed or having a suspended/revoked license, the vehicle may be impounded for a 30-day period. To obtain a vehicle release, you will need to come to the Redlands Police Department at 1270 W. Park Ave Bldg #C.

Citation Sign-Offs

Requests for citation sign-offs should be made at the front counter of the main station located at 1270 W. Park Avenue, Monday through Thursday, between the hours of 12:00 p.m. — 4:00 p.m. If your citation is for lack of proof of insurance, it must be signed off at the courthouse.

Property Retrieval

If you wish to retrieve property that was seized or confiscated at the time of your arrest or stolen property that has been recovered, please contact theProperty & Evidence Unit at 909-798-7684. Property will be releasedby appointment only, which you can make on our Make an Appointmentpage.
