How do I bypass parental controls on Family Link? ›

On the day they turn 13, children can choose whether they want to manage their own Google Account or continue to have their parent manage it for them. As a parent, you can also choose to remove supervision at any time when the child is over the age of 13.

You can't stop supervision until your child reaches the applicable age to manage their own Google Account. To stop supervision with a parent's device: On your parent device, open the Family Link app.

Go to g.co/YourFamily. Select the child you want to remove. Remove member. You may need to enter your password.

When children whose accounts are managed with Family Link turn 13 (or the applicable age in their country), they can decide to: Manage their own Google Account. Set up parental supervision for children over 13 (or the applicable age in their country)

By default, Family Link makes it possible for the child to “graduate” to a regular Google account at age 13 and — if they're still on Family Link — fully transitions them into an adult account at age 18.

Delete Family Link from Your Child's Device – Uninstall the Family Link app from your kid's Android device. This severs the connection, allowing remote monitoring and control. However, some restrictions may still apply.

Google Family Link only works with Google accounts for children under 13 created via the Family Link app. Once a child turns 13, they can continue to use Family Link if they choose to do so.

Important: You can delete accounts only for children under 13. If your child is older than 13, they need to delete the account themselves.

If you're a parent, you can find your child's Android and compatible Fitbit device location in Family Link once device location sharing is turned on.

That said, it is possible to remove Family Link without parents. To do it without parental account settings, you'll need to navigate to the “Settings” application on your phone, then find the “Manage App” option by scrolling down. Once in the “Manage App” option, look for “Family Link” and select that option.

You can do this by enabling Google Play's 'Parental Controls' feature. This will allow you to disable or remove parental controls without needing to know the password. To turn on the Parental Controls feature, open the Google Play app on your Android phone and go to Settings.
