Bloons Tower Defense 3 is an online game created by Ninja Kiwi. It is the official sequel to Bloons Tower Defense 2. It was created because many players wanted something even more advanced. On the NK site, it says "After 319 days, 32 million plays and countless requests for a sequel to Bloons Tower Defense 2, Ninja Kiwi is proud to present Bloons Tower Defense 3". In this Tower Defense game, you shoot at Bloons with towers such as Dart Monkeys, Tack Shooters, and Super Monkeys that you can buy. It is the predecessor to Bloons Tower Defense 4. Bloons Tower Defense 3 is the third installment in the Bloons Tower Defense series.

Because of the immense difficulty and player complaints of Bloons Tower Defense 2, Ninja Kiwi decreased the difficulty of Bloons Tower Defense 3.

There are also three related ports of Bloons TD 3 developed by Digital Goldfish: Bloons TD iOS, Bloons TD DSi and Bloons TD PSN.

Gameplay[]

The game, for the most part, is like its predecessor except with a few new features. There are more upgrades for the towers, more levels before the game finishes, and improved graphics. There are eleven towers that can be purchased. Each tower (besides Pineapples, Monkey Glue, and Road Spikes) can be upgraded, has two sequential upgrade paths, and two upgrades in each upgrade path. After beating 50 rounds, the player can now enter Freeplay Mode, a new feature in Bloons TD 3, and play rounds up to 150, after which the game ends and the player is congratulated for beating all rounds.

Tracks[]

In Bloons Tower Defense 3, There are eight different defense Tracks that can be chosen from; four tracks that can be played immediately when starting, and four that can be played after the other four have been beaten on Easy, Medium, or Hard Difficulty. Each track has a different route for Bloons to travel upon, and the next one is harder than the last.

These Tracks have a normal direct route from start to finish, but one of them is tricky.

These Tracks have multiple routes along the track.

Towers[]

Bloons Tower Defense 3 features 11 different Towers, and a "Super Monkey Storm" that is unlocked when a Monkey Beacon is upgraded to the "Monkey Storm Beacon". The Monkey Storm brings out a wave of Super Monkeys that destroys all Bloons (excluding M.O.A.B.s) on the field.

Attack Towers[]

These Towers Deal damage to Bloons and pop them, they have a variety of effects. These include explosions bursting a large area of Bloons, Shooting tacks in all directions, freezing Bloons, and other effects.

• Dart Monkey: Throws darts at Bloons.
• Tack Shooter: Shoots tacks in 8 directions at once. Can be upgraded to Blade Shooter.
• Boomerang: Throws a boomerang that curves back to it, popping Bloons along the way.
• Spike-O-Pult: Throws a giant spiked ball at Bloons.
• Ice Ball: Temporarily freezes Bloons. Only explosive bombs, boomerangs with Sonic Boom, and the Super Monkey's Laser Vision or Plasma Vision can pop frozen Bloons.
• Cannon: Shoots bombs which can pop frozen and Lead Bloons. Can be upgraded to Missile Launcher.
• Super Monkey: Throws darts super fast!

Support Towers[]

These Towers do not inflict damage to Bloons but help as support Towers.

• Monkey Beacon: Improves the range and attack speed of towers within its range.

Road Items[]

These items are very cheap and are placed directly on the track to intercept the Bloons. Glitches sometimes allow them to be placed off the track.

• Road Spikes: A cluster of spikes placed on the track. Pops ten bloons.
• Monkey Glue: Coats Bloons in glue, slowing them down. Glues twenty Bloons.
• Pineapple: A pineapple that explodes 3 seconds after being placed. Helpful for Lead Bloons but not against Black Bloons.

Special[]

These items have special effects that do not fit into categories above

• Super Monkey Storm: A squadron of Super Monkeys that fly across the screen, popping every Bloon on the screen. (unlocked by fully upgrading a Monkey Beacon)

New Bloons[]

There are two new bloons that made their first appearance in BTD3.

• Brown Bloon: 9 hits required to take out the main layer. Two rainbow bloons are released after that. Cannot be frozen, slowed by Permafrost, or damaged by Snap Freeze.
• M.O.A.B. (Massive Ornary Air Blimp): It is very slow and it requires 131 hits to pop. 4 Brown Bloons spawn when the M.O.A.B is destroyed.

Glitches[]

• On Track 4 there is occasionally no sound except for when the bombs explode. But, if the player upgrades it to missile launcher then the player will be back to no sound.
• On Track 4 the top entrance is glitched, meaning the black, white, and MOAB's are different. Black and white bloons are big and MOAB's carry rainbow bloons instead of ceramic bloons
• Sometimes when you press monkey beacon it will appear even if you don't have enough cash. A not enough money sign then appears.
• This glitch allows you to place towers anywhere on the map. First, click on the tower you want to place. Then, right click anywhere on the track where you ARE allowed to place that tower. While the drop-down is still there, click where on the screen you want to place the tower.
• A boomerang projectile is always on a boomerang monkey, damaging bloons if they are near the monkey's throwing arm. This is easily replicatable by placing a boomerang next to the track and targeting last.
• Super Monkey Storms can be called even after selling Monkey Beacons.
• Tack Shooters have more than one pierce.
• Exploding Pineapples explode more than once.

Trivia[]

• Bloons Tower Defense 3 is also accessible on coolmathgames, but it was nonfunctional with the removal of browsers' native Flash Player.
  • • As of 5/12/2023, coolmathgames has reintroduced Bloons Tower Defense 3 using AwayFL, a Flash emulator.
• The Bomb Shooter in BTD3 looks different from the Bomb Shooters in other games, it is green and has camouflage patterns.
• Spike-O-Pult makes its debut in BTD3 as a tower but was changed into an upgrade for the Dart Monkey in BTD4.
