At SugarFactory, the raw and industrial atmosphere of the former sugar factory is still tangible. The many spaces, each with their own characteristics and ambiance, the impressive atriums and many historical elements make this a unique location for events. Whether you want to organise an intimate event or want to impress a larger audience, SugarFactory has a suitable space for every event. Of course, all rooms are equipped with the most modern facilities, to support your event in the best possible way.

Versatility

SugarFactory offers distinctive industrial event spaces for a variety of events such as conferences, product presentations, conventions and exhibitions. What makes our event venue unique is the degree of independence our clients enjoy. There is complete freedom of choice in terms of technology and organisation because we purely rent out the venue. You are also free to choose your own catering, decorations, etc. – although we do have a few good addresses that we enjoy working with and who know our location inside out! Finally, our venue never hosts any other events on the day of your event.

Accessibility

SugarFactory is easily accessible both by car and by public transport. The NS-station Halfweg-Zwanenburg is right in front of the door, with several direct train connections per hour in the direction of Amsterdam or Haarlem. The location is easy to reach by car via various main roads. In addition, SugarFactory has its own parking spaces. And are you expecting international guests at your event? Amsterdam Airport Schiphol is only 15 minutes away.

Sweet history

From 1863 until its closure in 1992, the old sugar factory produced sugar. Steam, large machines and squeaky cranes were part of the daily life of the former factory employees. From far and wide, people could smell the woefully sweet aroma during the ‘sugar beet campaign’.

Since 2002, the former sugar factory is being redeveloped by the Cobraspen Group into a unique event location, preserving or reusing as much of its history as possible. The modern techniques that a contemporary event location needs are applied subtly and with respect for the factory.

Sustainability

During the transformation of the former sugar factory into an events location, sustainability has always been key. Preserving the factory and giving materials a new life, so future generations can also enjoy this part of industrial heritage in a new form.

Conservation is a core value that is reflected in the DNA of the Cobraspen Group, parent company of SugarFactory and responsible for the redevelopment of the entire factory site.
